Mille Fontaines
| Submissions
Mille Fontaines is an inclusive literary magazine that publishes all styles and forms of art. Past editions have included poetry, prose, photography, painting, drawing, printing, music, and film, but the magazine is not limited to any of these mediums.
While English and French are the most common, submissions in any language are encouraged.
Submissions for the Spring 2026 edition of Mille Fontaines are now OPEN! Please submit before March 13th!
Every semester, the staff selects one French and one English word to serve as the theme of the edition. For our Eighth Edition we are excited to announce our chosen theme:
Vernal Éclipse !
The vernal or spring season is connected with cycles of rebirth and growth; shedding winter’s shell to emerge from a cocoon – ready to greet the world anew. Fresh life and energy abound in this youthful season. To be alive is to change and grow. With each new season of life, one should aim to surpass previous bounds as they evolve towards a more actualized self. The work is never done, there is always something novel to discover. Each step forward only reveals another to take, which slowly clarifies from the vague fog of the future. This yearly metamorphosis we all undertake allows one to surpass or outshine their former self. But just as a heavenly body eclipsed by another is not truly gone, our previous renditions are hidden just underneath the surface – ready to inform or guide our matured versions along their paths.
Submissions are NOT required to fit the theme. The theme is not intended to limit the creativity of our contributors, rather to expand their focus and provide inspiration for those who want more direction.
We look forward to reading your submissions, so allez-y !
